A new Samsung Galaxy J5 Primeappeared on FCC last week, basically confirming the imminent launch of the phone. Now the specs sheet of the device appeared, establishing some of the rumors and adding more clarity to the new affordable handset from Samsung.

The 2017 edition of the J5 Prime will have Exynos 7570 chipset with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and 3 GB RAM.

  1. MicroSD cards are purchased separately from the phone. The microSD card slot is right above the battery in Samsung Galaxy S5, and the slot should be empty when you remove the battery for the first time. Other phones, all of the iOS and some Android phones, may or may not have the microSD card slot. Is the High Speed Micro SDHC the right card?
  2. The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) release date was April 2016. Features and Specs include a 5.2' inch screen, 13MP camera, 2GB RAM, Snapdragon 410 processor, and 3100mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime (2017) will come with just 16 GB of internal storage, but the microSD slot lets you add more. The phone will have a 5” IPS LCD, instead of an AMOLED panel, to keep the price down.

The camera on the back will be 13 MP, while the selfie snapper is expected to have an 8 MP sensor. The home button on the front will double as a fingerprint scanner.

The specs sheet also reveals that the OS will be Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Galaxy J5 Prime will have a 2,500 mAh sealed battery.

ADVERTISEMENTS

Samsung itself showed a bronze Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on its Ukrainian website by accident weeks ago. And most recently, the YouTube tipster JimmyIsPromo offered us a hands-on video at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Plus/Ultra. Unfortunately, we still know not much about the specs of these new phones, for instance, will Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series come with micro SD card slot?

Rumors have that both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Plus/Ultra will have a whopping 16GB of RAM, compared with the 12GB of RAM standard on Galaxy S20 Ultra. As for storage, however, SamMobile says that Galaxy Note 20 will come with a 128GB storage as a base. This seems to be a downgrade, as Note 10 and Note 10 Plus both offered 256GB last year. But considering the Note 10 didn’t have micro SD support while the Note 10 Plus did, the two new phones this time will likely follow suit, that is, the Galaxy Note Plus/Ultra will include a micro SD card slot. On the other hand, as the rumored 8K recording ability will use up a ton of storage, the expandable storage is nearly a must.

Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Note 10+, S10 series, and Note 9 all have micro SD card support for up to 1TB, which gives users full power to use the phone anyway they like without worrying about insufficient memory. But do you really need a phone with micro SD card slot? If the storage for music, images, and other user-added files mean a lot to you, take SD card into consideration when buying a phone, or some other external storage methods like cloud storage. If you are a light user of phones, the internal storage (you can choose 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB) can absolutely meet your need.
